Dr William Glasser is an American psychiatrist who researched the human brain to find out how it takes in stores information. This is what you do when you revise!
His results can help you to revise in the best way possible. Each method is given a percentage, the higher the percentage the more likely you will remember.
How We Learn
10% of what we READ
20% of what we HEAR
30% of what we SEE
50% of what we SEE and HEAR
70% of what is DISCUSSED with OTHERS
80% of what is EXPERIENCED PERSONALLY
95% of what we TEACH TO SOMEONE ELSE
An Example
You have to revise acids and alkalis- if you were to just read a book on acids and alkalis you would only remember 10% of it!
If you were to discuss acids and alkalis with other people you would remember 70% of it.
So revision shouldn't be just reading books, you actually don't remember much of it at all!
